MY GALLERY
I thought of using Apple’s .Mac service as my data storage solution a while ago, but I’ve been really trying to avoid it. I mean it is so expensive. So ridiculously expensive that it is hard to consider. Then it hit me, check out the free trial and see if it really is worth it. 10 gigs of space for 100 bucks a year is just a little (read: a lot) expensive, but in their defense I do get a sweet email account, a web gallery – which is exactly what I was looking. I can upload my pictures into an AWESOME looking gallery for my friends, family, hell the whole world to look at. I can use my computer essentially from anywhere with the Back to My Mac feature, back up with the rightly named Back Up. I can even make another website and host it with my .Mac account. Back to the web gallery – people can see it, people can order prints from, and what I think is absolutely the coolest thing about it is people can their own pictures to it. Say I went on a vacation to Alaska, If I went with some other people and they took pictures as well, they can add their pictures to my gallery. This whole easy sharing of information that .Mac brings is exactly what I was looking for in a data storage solution.
